What You’ll Learn in the PALS Course
The Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) Provider Course equips healthcare professionals with the skills to recognize and respond to pediatric emergencies, including respiratory distress, shock, and cardiopulmonary arrest. Through interactive case scenarios and simulations, participants will develop high-performance team dynamics and essential life-saving techniques. To successfully complete the course, students must pass all patient case scenarios and achieve a minimum score of 84% on the final exam.
Key Learning Objectives:
- Perform high-quality CPR following AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) guidelines
- Quickly assess and differentiate patients needing urgent intervention
- Recognize and respond to cardiopulmonary arrest within 10 seconds
- Apply effective team communication and coordination during resuscitation
- Identify and manage respiratory distress and failure with early interventions
- Differentiate and treat compensated vs. decompensated (hypotensive) shock
- Recognize and manage stable and unstable arrhythmias
- Understand the signs of clinical instability in arrhythmic patients
